Arusha National Park

Overview

Arusha National park is park located near Mount Meru with an area of 522 square km. In this park you will came across blue monkeys and the acrobatic black and white Colobus. Also you will have the best view of the Ngurdoto Crater home of large herbs of buffaloes and warthogs.

Best known for

Arusha National park is not much included in the Northern Safari circuit. This is due to lack of most wild animals includes the Big five. It’s only the buffalo are regularly seen.

• it’s the only part in Tanzania with the black and white Colobus monkey
• It’s the park situated near Mount Meru yet gives you a beautiful view of Kilimanjaro Mountain.
• It also gives you a superb bird watching within the forest having more than 400 Species.
• Its habitat varies from Montane rainforest to moist Savannah to alnine moorland.

When to go

The best seasons when animals are easily spotted is from (June –October) having the best weather. Where the wet seasons are March and April, animals are rarely seen.

• Walking safari around the Ngurdoto crater.
