Overview
Mount Kilimanjaro national park, the so-called peak of Africa. It’s the largest mountain in Africa and among the giant mountains in the world. The most astonishing feature is it is the only tropical mountain with a snow cap. This mountain is 5,895m high above sea level with a base area of 756square km. this mountain is also comprised of three peaks which are Mawenzi (5,149m) Kibo(5895m) and Shira (3962m).

When to go
December –February there is the warm and clear condition on the mount hence best to climb. Also July-September it’s dry and cold. Apart from March to May where there is heavy rainfall in the southern part of the mountains. The ice at the peak remains due to a decrease in temperature as you move high.

Kilimanjaro has 6 climbing routes all passing through the Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. These are Marangu, Mweka, Machame, Umbwe, Lemosho, Shira and Rongai routes. Another interesting is that different levels of this mountain have different climates. Also as you pass through the forest you will come across monkeys hopping across trees and birds of different species.
