Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Arusha to Londorossi National Park Gate
At 09:00 am after a heavy breakfast Utmost Expeditions guide will pick and drive to Londorossi National Park Gate. For registrations formalities then you will get into the forest with a drive to starting point Lemosho Glades and hike along the forest trails to Mti Mkubwa Campsite thereafter dinner and overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.
Day 2: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp
In your day two Kilimanjaro, a hike will slowly become a bit steep while entering the moorland zone, hike passing Shira Ridge gently to Shira Camp 1 located by a stream on the Shira Plateau. After breakfast begins the hike gradually steeping and passing the giant heather moorland streams are crossed then it gains the Shira ridge then drops gently down to Shira 1 camp nearby the streams on the Shira Plateau, Dinner and overnight at Shira 1 Camp.
DAY 3: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Shira Camp to Shira Camp
After an early breakfast, you will have a very gradual hike passing the plateau which leads you to Shira Camp 2 on moorland meadows by a stream. Although variety hikes are available on the plateau just to make this a fantastic acclimatization easy day.
Day 4: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Shira Camp to Lava Tower
Begins a day 4 Kilimanjaro hike after breakfast, continues trekking east to a steeping path above the vegetation toward Mount Kilimanjaro looming huge after hours of hiking you will trek through a rocky landscape to Lava Tower. The late volcanic activity is a hundred feet high, and the hike passes right below it. You will rest for acclimatization and have lunch after lunch you descend for about 2 hours below the lower cliffs of the Kilimanjaro Western Breach and Breach Wall to Barranco Camp; the Camp is within the valley which is below the Western Breach and the Barranco Wall, which will give your lifetime memories of scenic sunset while you wait for early dinner.
Day 5: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Early breakfast you will hike the great Barranco Wall, you trek the magnificent obstacle which at points turns out to be easier than it look. Topping out just below the Kilimanjaro Heim Glacier, you can admit just the beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro. With a clear Kilimanjaro Kibo snow while you descend into the pretty Karanga Valley to the Karanga Valley camp. From the campsite, you will look east and see the jagged Peaks of Mawenzi into the clear view. After lunch at the campsite, your afternoon is spent at leisure for acclimatization. The previous 2 days were somehow long so you will have time to rest too, dinner and overnight at Karanga Camp.
Day 6: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Late breakfast then begins trekking east over intervening ridges and valleys to join the Mweka Route, which you will be your descending Kilimanjaro route. You will turn left toward the mountain and trek up the ridge through a sparse landscape for another 1 hour to Barafu Hut. Note this is the last water point on lemosho route there is no more water stream at Barafu Camp. It’s windy and rocky your tents will be pitched. Arrange the gears and warm clothing for your summit trek, we recommend you to drink plenty of fluids. You will have early dinner you sleep a bit waiting for midnight.
Day 7: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Summit Day to Barafu Camp
Your guides will wake up you at the midnight and after you have hot tea and nuts you will drag your feet off into the long night. 5 to 7 hours hike northwest up through the heavy scree between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers to Stella Point on the crater rim is the most Kilimanjaro challenging part of the lemosho route for most hikers. You arrive at Stella Point stop for a while to rest and a chance to see a panoramic sunrise. Stella Point is where you will join hikers who are climbing using the Marangu Route, from there through the crater rim it will take one and half hours to reach Uhuru peak. At the main peaks, you will have to take quick pictures then you continue descending down to Barafu, for lunch a bit rest before you begin another short descend to mweka camp for overnight.
Day 8: Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After breakfast you will continue with descending to the national park gate, arrive at mweka park get you and your guide will sign certificates and celebrate a bit with your supporting team then you will catch your car to drive back to the hotel in Moshi or Arusha for overnight.
Day 9: Moshi / Arusha / Tanzania Wildlife Safari – Zanzibar
According to your Tanzania Travel schedule, a driver-guide will meet you in the hotel and transfer you whether to Kilimanjaro international airport / Arusha airport for a flight back home or you exceed to Tanzania Safari / Zanzibar beach holiday.
